Sira languages

The Sira languages are a language group within Guthrie Zone B of the Bantu languages . It is classified as Zone B40 and contains seven individual languages ​​that are spoken by a total of around 128,000 people in Gabon and the Republic of the Congo .

The individual languages ​​are:

  • Barama , about 6000 speakers in Gabon
  • Bwisi , around 4200 speakers in the Republic of the Congo and Gabon
  • Lumbu , around 22,700 speakers in Gabon and the Republic of the Congo
  • Punu , about 132,000 speakers in Gabon and the Republic of the Congo
  • Sangu , about 21,000 speakers in Gabon
  • Sira , around 39,400 speakers in Gabon
