Sissi Flegel (born August 18, 1944 in Schwäbisch Hall ) is a German writer who, in addition to her novels for adult readers, has successfully published numerous books for children and young people. Sissi Flegel became known with the novel about the Celtic prince of Hochdorf, The Third Lion, as well as with her youth books in the bestseller series Freche Mädchen - cheeky books by Thienemann-Esslinger Verlag . Other Best Seller achievements came in 2017 with her novel The Mysteries summer women in dotbooks publishing.

biography

Sissi Flegel grew up in the Swabian and Württemberg Allgäu and studied German, English and history at a university of education. She then worked as a primary and secondary school teacher and at the State Institute for Education and Teaching in Stuttgart. In her free time she wrote articles and short stories and soon decided to make writing her main occupation. In 1982 her first book for young people was published by Ensslin and Laiblin Verlag, and in 1988 she received the Dinkelsbühl literary prize . From 1989 Sissi Flegel wrote for Thienemann-Esslinger Verlag and was very successful there with her novels in the youth book series Freche Mädchen - cheeky books and the children's book series Buchpiraten : The series has been translated into 14 languages. Sissi Flegel's children's and young people's books have been published by cbj Randomhouse since 2008 and as eBooks by dotbooks Verlag since 2014 . For several years now, Sissi Flegel has been writing novels for adult readers exclusively for dotbooks Verlag and Silberburg Verlag : Her bestselling novel The Secrets of Summer Women was published as an eBook by dotbooks in 2017.

Sissi Flegel wrote far more than 40 novels, including her best-selling success, the secrets of the summer women in dotbooks Publishing and their youth books for the best-selling series Cheeky Girls - naughty books in Thienemann Esslinger Verlag . Many of her children's and young people's books have been translated into foreign languages, including Catalan, Spanish, Turkish, Korean, Slovenian, English, Czech and Polish. Her youth novel In the Magic of the Labyrinth was also published in Braille.
