Naughty girls - naughty books

Freche Mädchen - Freche Bücher is a book series by Thienemann-Esslinger Verlag , which is aimed at girls aged 12 and over.

General

The series “Freche Mädchen - Freche Bücher” has been around since 1998. The Freche-Mädchen books are written by different authors. Cheeky girl books deal with typical problems of young female adolescents, for example many of the books are about the first love or the first kiss. The everyday life of female teenagers is told in a humorous way.

An article with the title “Farewell to sweet porridge” that appeared in the book report in 2007 criticized a trend towards trivial literature in the German-language children's and youth book market , using the example of the “Freche Mädchen ...” book “Franzosen kisses better” as an example . A representative of the Thienemann publishing house rejected the accusation of poor quality, justified the "trivial" design elements (such as the glittering heart on the book covers of the series) with the need to orientate oneself to the wishes of the target group, and emphasized that the book through ironic breaks I help readers to distance themselves from their own puberty problems.

By 2009 there are around 100 books by Freche Mädchen - Freche Bücher! published. 21 Naughty Girls Books have also been published in English, they are designed for entertaining learning English. In total, the books had been translated into 22 languages by 2008, and many books were also published as audio books.

Over 7 million copies were sold by 2008. In July 2006 Constantin Film acquired the filming rights.

The basis for the first film were the books by Bianka Minte-König about Hanna, Mila and Kati. On July 17, 2008, the film was released under the title " Naughty Girls ". Among others, there will be: Wilson Gonzalez Ochsenknecht , Emilia Schüle , Piet Klocke , Selina Shirin Müller , Anke Engelke and Armin Rohde . At the start of the film, a radio play "Freche Mädchen" will be released by DAV, Der Audio Verlag . The DVD for the film was released on December 18, 2008.

On July 22nd, 2010, the second film " Naughty Girls 2 " was released.

Cheeky Girls - Cheeky Manga will be published in June 2008. It starts with mangas for the "Hanna, Mila, Kati" series by Bianka Minte-König.

Since January 2007 the publisher has been selling various merchandising articles through bookstores, and from July 2007 there will also be an online shop on the Freche Mädchen - freche Bücher homepage.
