Skärholmen is an underground station on the Stockholm Metro . It is located in the Skärholmen district of the same name . The station is served by the Röda linjen of the Stockholm metro system . It is one of the most frequented stations on the underground network. On a normal working day, 13,000 commuters get on and off here.

The station was put into operation on March 1, 1967 as the 64th station of the Tunnelbana, when the section of the Röda linjen between Sätra and Skärholmen was inaugurated. It was also the terminus of line T13 until December 2, 1967, from then on the trains drove over the newly built section to the next station Vårberg . The platforms are about five meters underground. The station is located between the Sätra and Vårberg stations . It is around 10 km to Stockholm Central Station .
