Skambankt ( beaten up or beaten ) is a Norwegian hard rock band from Klepp , a small town south of Stavanger . They play a mixture of classic rock 'n' roll , punk and hard rock, in the tradition of bands such as Motörhead , AC / DC , Sex Pistols , Ramones and The Stooges . The lyrics are entirely in Norwegian , and they convey the original ideas of punk: against the state, against the system, against corruption, capitalism, surveillance, religious fanaticism and, in general, against hatred and treason.

history

The band was founded in 1994. At that time it consisted of Ted Winters (actually Terje Vinterstø, also known as Killmaster from Kaizers Orchestra ) on guitar and vocals, Don Fist (Tollak Friestad) on bass and Hans Panzer (Hans Egil Løe) on drums. At that time, however, it was only enough for a few live performances and demo recordings. Ten years later, the former Skambankt members met at a bachelorette party. Since a stage with a complete backline was set up at the party, the decision was made sometime after midnight to revive Skambankt. This time around it was easy to get a record deal, and after Hans Panzer switched to second guitar and passed the drumsticks to Tom Skalle (Tom Erik Løe), the band was ready to record their first self-titled album Skambankt , which was released in 2004 appeared.

Since then, Skambankt have played many concerts and festival appearances in Norway, Denmark and Germany. The highlight so far is their appearance at the Roskilde Festival 2005, where they played in front of 20,000 spectators.

In 2005 the EP Skamania was released, which contained six new songs and two videos. There was also a line-up change when Bones Wolsman (Børge Henriksen) came into the band to replace Tom Skalle.

In 2007 Skambankt released their second album Eliksir . The first single Tyster ( Spitzel ) was played regularly on Norwegian radio, and the album itself received good reviews. Skambankt also recorded a video for the song Dynasti . The album debuted at number 8 in the Norwegian charts.

On January 26th, 2009 the third album Hardt Regn will be released . It was recorded in the Bekk Studio in Jæren in September 2008 and produced by Skambankt himself. The advance single Malin was released in October 2008.
