Skandinavisk Aero Industri
The Skandinavisk Aero Industri A / S (SAI) was a Danish manufacturer of airplanes . The company existed from 1937 to 1954. The company headquarters was initially in Kastrup . The owners were the engineer Karl Gustav Zeuthen and the designer Viggo Kramme . Production began with the SAI KZ-1 . Further development was hindered by the Second World War . In 1947 the young company was badly hit by a conflagration on the factory premises, in which 22 SAI KZ VII , which were already ready for delivery , were destroyed.
The aircraft of this manufacturer achieved a certain distribution, at least in Denmark. About 200 pieces of all types were made. A collection of all SAI models is located in Dansk Veteranflysamling in Skjern , Denmark.
