Skavøya is an island in the Vågsfjord in the municipality of Kinn in the Norwegian province of Vestland .
The island is located on the north side of the Vågsfjord directly at the entrance to Skavøpollen Bay , which is therefore only connected to the fjord by a narrow, 120-meter-wide passage north of the island and the approximately 120-meter-wide Vindhammarsundet southeast of Skavøya. Tennebø is located east of the island on the mainland .
The rocky island is partly covered with trees and bushes and rises to a height of 27 meters. It extends from northwest to southeast over about 580 meters with a width of up to 180 meters. Skavøy is a small settlement on its north bank . Another stand-alone building is in the south-eastern part of the island.
There is also a grave complex dating back to the Iron Age and registered as a cultural monument.
