Tennebø is a village in the Norwegian municipality of Kinn in the province of Vestland .

location

It is located on the northeast side of Vågsfjord on the north shore of Skavøpollen Bay . The islands of Skavøya and Furøy are in front of the town . Riksvei 15 runs through Tennebø . To the north of the village, separated by the Deknepollvatnet lake , is the village of Degnepoll , which, like Tennebø, is considered a suburb of the town of Måløy a little further north . To the east lies Nygård .

history

The first written mention of the place is from 1563 as Thendebø . At that time there were two farms. In 1866 a small third farm was spun off from one of the farms. Bjørkeli, Hatlevik, Indrebø, Ospel and Tondermyra farms existed around 1900. In 1896 a school was built in Tennebø. In the period around 1940/50 the building turned out to be too small, so that a new building was finally built in 1954. The children from the villages on the south side of Ulvesundet went to the municipal school . The school was later expanded. In 1953 the secondary school Måløy Vidaregåande Skule was established . A maritime vocational school was also set up in 2005. In 2003 the Nordfjordhallen sports hall was built.

In 1999 Tennebø had 481 inhabitants. Since the place has been shown together with Måløy since 2001, no more up-to-date statistical information is available. However, various new buildings were built in the village.
