Skënder Gega (born November 14, 1963 in Tropojë ) is a former Albanian football player and current coach .

Career

Player career

society

1983 began his career as a professional soccer player with the Albanian club FK Partizani Tirana . In the 1986/87 season he won the Albanian championship with the team. In 1990 he moved from there to Germany to the Sportfreunde Siegen , for whom he said he was active until 1995. In any case, his squad membership from 1992 to 1993 is backed up by external sources. In 1995/96 he is said to have played again for Partizani Tirana.

National team

He was also used for the Albanian national team in ten official international matches from 1987 to 1989 . According to his own information, he was a member of the national team from 1983 to 1990. and is said to have completed 32 games.

Coaching

He worked as both director and coach for the Albanian club Partizan . In the meantime, Gega lived in the United States, where he coached the U-17 women's national team and in the 2008 season coached the women of Seton Hall University .

At least in 2011 he lived in Albania and from February of that year initially trained the Albanian U-19 team . In October 2011 he took over as coach of the U-21 national team of Albania . He was responsible for this until June 24, 2015. From the following day he took over the coaching position at the Kuwaiti club al-Jahra . On his own LinkedIn profile, on the other hand, he states February 2015 as the date when he started the latter activity.
