Skiron ( Greek  Σκίρων ) is a figure of Greek mythology and the son of Poseidon, although according to Plutarch Henioche , daughter of Pittheus , was his mother with Kanethos .

He was a mugger who ambushed unsuspecting hikers on the border of Attica and Megara , plundered them and forced them to wash his feet. He pushed them down into the sea, where a huge turtle ate the corpses . The young Theseus defeated him and killed him in the same way. But both the earth and the sea denied him a grave and instead hurled him back and forth until his remains finally petrified. The Skironic rocks near Megara, which are tumbled over by violent storms , therefore bear his name.
