Skláře (Lesná)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Skláře (German Neu Windischgrätz , Czech formerly Nový Windischgrätz ) is an abandoned place on the municipality of Lesná (German Schönwald ) in Okres Tachov , Czech Republic .

geography

Skláře is located one kilometer east of the German-Czech border on Celní potok in the Upper Palatinate Forest . The Havran ( Großer Rabenberg , 894 m) rises to the southwest and the Entenbühl (901 m) to the northwest . To the east lies the Zlatý Potok desert .

history

The place was probably named "Neu-Windischgrätzhütte" at the request of the Tachau rulers. In 1793, Johann Kaspar Lenk, the leaseholder of a nearby mirror glass company in Goldbach , founded a new company for sheet and mirror glass in the border forest . However, Neu-Windischgrätz is already mentioned in a map sheet of the Josephinische Landesaufnahme before 1793. Up to 7 journeymen and up to 20 assistants were employed here until the end of operations in the mid-19th century.

After the abolition of patrimonial Neuwindischgrätz formed from 1850 a district of the community Paulusbrunn in the judicial district of Tachau and Pilsener Kreis. Since 1868 the place belonged to the Tachau district .

The border system built after the Second World War was dismantled in 1990/1991.
