Sky city 1000

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sky City 1000 (Japanese: ス カ イ シ テ ィ ー 1000; Sukai Shitī 1000) is a possible future project of an urban city as a solution to the ever-increasing space requirements in Tokyo .

planning

The project is a 1000 meter high and 400 meter wide building with a usable area of eight km². The designs submitted in 1989 by the Takenaka Corporation (株式会社 竹 中 工 務 店 Kabushiki-Gaisha Takenaka Kōmuten) offer space for 36,000 residents and 100,000 jobs. The building will contain apartments , offices , shops , schools and theaters .

The project is being followed very seriously. Tests were carried out with Tokyo's fire helicopter to simulate the dangers of a fire at this altitude. Three-story elevators that can carry up to 70 people have also been tested in experiments.

Comparable projects

Compared to comparable projects such as X-Seed 4000 , Norman Foster's Millennium Tower , Paolo Soleri's Arkologie or Le Corbusier's Radiant City, the project is given greater opportunities to be realized.

In Auckland ( New Zealand ) there is a 328 meter high Sky Tower as part of an entertainment complex also called Sky City .
