The Sledging Col (English for sled ride saddle ) is a mountain saddle in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Hays Mountains of the Queen Maud Mountains, it lies between Mount Griffith and a very low mountain on its northeast side. The mountain saddle allows access from the Scott Glacier to the head end of the Koerwitz Glacier and from there further north.
Scientists from a 1969 to 1970 campaign for the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition named it that after they had used it as an alternative route to the impassable west flank of the lower section of the Scott Glacier.
