The Koerwitz Glacier is a glacier with little gradient in the West Antarctic Marie Byrd Land . It flows from Mount Griffith in the Hays Mountains to the Karo Hills .
It was first sighted and roughly mapped during the Byrd Antarctic Expedition (1928–1930). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the glacier in 1967 after Peter H. Koerwitz, administrator of the biological laboratory at McMurdo Station in 1965.
