The Slessor Glacier is a glacier in the East Antarctic Coatsland . It flows west from the Shackleton Range to the Filchner-Ronne Ice Shelf , which it reaches between the Range and the Theron Mountains to the north .
It was discovered from the air and later mapped by participants in the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958) led by British polar explorer Vivian Fuchs . It is named after John Slessor (1897–1997), chairman of the expedition committee.
