Slim Lamar

Slim Lamar was an American jazz and entertainment musician ( clarinet , tenor saxophone ) and band leader .

Slim Lamar led a Territory Band from the late 1920s , which was active in the Tennessee area and in the u. a. Musicians like Tony Almerico , Sonny Clapp , Spud Murphy and Irwin Kunz were also active. Between 1928 and 1932 played Slim Lamar and His Southerners in Memphis (Tennessee) and Camden (New Jersey) about twenty titles for Victor Records one, including "Goofus", "Memphis Kick Up," "Mississippi Stomp" and "Oriental Illusions". Lamar also recorded with Mart Britt and singer Irene Beasley during this time .
