from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Slobodan Medić (born September 18, 1966 in Vinkovci ; † December 31, 2013 in Sremska Mitrovica ), called Boca, was the commander of the Serbian paramilitary special unit Škorpioni .

During the trial of Slobodan Milošević in 2005, a video emerged that showed how the Škorpioni, led by Medić, shot and killed six Muslim Bosnians in Trnovo on July 17, 1995 . In his own trial before the Belgrade Special War Crimes Court, Medić admitted that he killed and did not regret it, but denied commissioning the murders committed by his people on the video. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison by the Serbian court. He died in a car accident with his family on New Year's Eve 2013. He had previously been given permission to leave the prison for several days on several occasions and was on his way back to his Sremska Mitrovica prison during the accident .
