The Slovenský hrubosrstý stavač , ( Slovak Rough Beard - SHS ) is a breed of dogs from Slovakia recognized by the FCI ( No. 320, Gr. 7, Sec. 1.1 ) .
description
The Slovak rough beard is a pointing dog of the Bracque type up to 68 cm in size (Braque generally refers to short-haired pointing dogs). Its rough-haired fur forms the typical beard and bushy eyebrows under the muzzle. The coat color is referred to as "gray", FCI formulation: the basic tone is a chestnut-brown, shaded sand color with lighter or darker variants or also "gray" with more or less large spots, possibly spotted. The hangings, i.e. the hanging ears, are set high and wide, rounded off. The thickly hairy tail visually forms the extension of the back line.
The original races
The breeds on which the Slovak Rough Beard is based are the Bohemian Rauhbart (Cesky Fousek) and the Weimaraner Shorthair .
During the breeding also were Pointing BREED, like the Griffon , the German Wirehaired Pointer , the Poodle Pointer and the German Shorthair crossed.
In Germany, the breed is looked after directly by the Association for the German Canine System (VDH). The German Club of the Slovak Wire-haired Pointing Dogs (SHS Germany) is the ideal point of contact.
