Smetana Trio
The Smetana Trio is a Czech piano trio . It is named after the Czech composer Bedřich Smetana . Founded in 1934, it was under the artistic direction of its pianist Josef Páleníček until 1978 . After the Second World War it was renamed the Czech Trio . Since 1978 it has been called the Smetana Trio again . Since 2003 it has been playing in the line-up of Jitka Čechová , piano, Hana Kotková , violin and Jan Páleníček (the son of Josef Páleníček), cello.
