Jitka Čechová

Jitka Čechová (* 1971 in Mělník near Prague ) is a Czech pianist . She studied in Prague at the Conservatory with Jan Novotny and at the Academy of Performing Arts with Peter Toperczer. After her studies she was u. a. Student of Eugen Indjic in Paris and Vitali Berzon in Freiburg.

Life

After participating in international competitions in Aussig , Marienbad and Bratislava , she achieved her international breakthrough at the International Festival in Edinburgh in 1998. Since then she has also been heard on international concert stages as a partner of the Munich Symphony Orchestra , the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra and the SWR Symphony Orchestra .

Her repertoire focuses on the piano music of Bedřich Smetana and, as a member of the Smetana Trio and as a duo partner of her trio colleagues, the violinist Hana Kotková and the cellist Jan Pálenícek - chamber music.

She has produced CD recordings for Intercord , BMG , Lotos and Supraphon , where she made a complete recording of Smetana's piano works.
