The Smith nunatak is a nunatak in Mac Robertson Land, East Antarctica . In the Athos Range of the Prince Charles Mountains, it rises immediately southeast of Mount Starlight . A special feature is a mountain ridge that extends from it over a length of 3 km in a northerly direction.
Aerial photographs of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions from 1965 were used for mapping purposes. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it after James C. Smith, a diesel generator set mechanic at Wilkes Station in 1960.
