The Smith River is a river in the southwest of the Australian state of Tasmania .

geography

The river has its source on the western slopes of the Princess Range in the western part of the Franklin Gordon Wild Rivers National Park . It flows south on the west side of the mountain range and joins the Gordon River west of the Nichols Range .

On its entire course, the Smith River flows through unpopulated area in the national park.
