The Smithburne River is an arm of the Gilbert River in the north of the Australian state of Queensland .
geography
River course
The arm of the river branches off from the main river at Miranda Downs and forms the southern part of the delta. It flows west-northwest and flows into the Gulf of Carpentaria about 50 km north of Karumba .
