Smotherbox ( English to smother, “stifle, cover”) or head box , also oral box , toilet box or toilet box , describes a device that is used as SM furniture in the context of BDSM  - but also for sexual practices outside of BDSM, for example as an aid in Framework of excrementophilic practices .

use

The device is mostly used to the fact that a person in the framework of Domination and Submission as an active partner ( top ) on the face of a passive partner, the so-called Bottoms sitting around in a sexy role play their superiority to demonstrate playfully. This may or may not include sexual activities such as cunnilingus or anilingus by the party acting as the bottom. Smotherboxes are also common aids in excrementophile practices. Smotherboxes are also used for special sexual practices such as facesitting or breathing control games. Even if they are usually not constructed airtight, the only breathing opening is in the middle of the seat. The person sitting on top can therefore influence the air supply by shifting his body.

properties

A smother box usually has two openings. One is located vertically on the side of the device and allows a person to insert their head and part of the neck. The second opening is located on the top of the device and thus allows direct access to the face of the bottom while his head is in the construction. The interior of the construction is often padded to support the bottom's neck and prevent his head from moving. The upholstery can also dampen environmental noise and thereby allow elements of sensory deprivation to flow into the scenario.

A smotherbox is supposed to make sitting on the face of the bottom more comfortable for both parties. It offers the sitter a stable seat and at the same time relieves the cervical spine of the person lying below. On the one hand, this enables longer game scenes, on the other hand, smotherboxes are rejected by some sadomasochists because of their convenience for the passive partner.

Mostly smotherboxes are individually manufactured functional furniture. Valuable woods and leather are often used in production. Smotherboxes are available from specialized retailers, but are occasionally also made by home workers.
