Sexual practice
As a sexual practice , sexual practice , Sextechnik or Sexstellung actions and postures referred to the sexual desire to serve one or more persons and are mostly focused on sexual satisfaction ( orgasm ). This includes not only obviously sexual acts such as stimulation of the genital organs , but everything that is sexually arousing for those involved . Many elements of such actions can also occur in non-sexual contexts (such as a kiss ). In a figurative sense, the names are sometimes transferred to representatives of the animal world ( see below ).
Autosexuality, masturbation
Sexual practices practiced by a single person are summarized under the terms autosexuality or self-satisfaction (also onanism, ipsation or masturbation). Masturbation in general can also be carried out with the help of a wide variety of objects (such as sex toys ).
Sexual practices between two or more people
Sexual practices between two people (of the same sex or of the same sex) include stimulation of the erogenous zones as well as the whole body (stimulation of the primary and secondary sex organs ) and various types of sexual intercourse. The term sexual intercourse describes either sexual practices in which one or more primary genital organs are involved, penetration through the penis (vaginal, anal, oral) or only vaginal intercourse , depending on the usage . With Petting refers to all forms of physical contact that does not einbeschließen coitus but deliberately are designed to make sexual arousal cause.
In addition, there are practices that do not have to be sexual per se , but are perceived as sexually stimulating by those involved, active ones such as role-playing, disguises, an intended delay or acceleration of sexual acts ( e.g. during quickies ), change of location, auditory stimulation such as dirty talk , and passive visual or audiovisual stimulation (such as striptease clubs , porn movies ).
All forms of so-called sexual harassment , sexual abuse and rape are to be distinguished from this.
Vaginal
During vaginal intercourse, the man's penis is inserted into the woman's vagina. It can be practiced in different positions ( missionary position , a tergo or also called doggy position, riding and much more ).
Anal
The term anal intercourse describes sexual intercourse in which the penis is inserted into the partner's rectum , i.e. through the anus . With increasing sexual arousal , increased relaxation of the ring-shaped muscles around the anus is possible. Anal intercourse is possible between men and women as well as between men and men and, like vaginal intercourse, can be practiced in different positions.
Pegging is a special form of anal intercourse, in which the active part is taken over by the woman with the help of a dildo . Pegging can be practiced in both lesbian and heterosexual relationships.
Orally
Oral intercourse (also known as "French" sex) is sexual intercourse with the mouth and tongue. The combination of mouth / penis has the name fellatio (also known as "bubbles" or English blowjob ), while mouth / clitoris or mouth / vulva is referred to as cunnilingus . In fellatio, the sperm ejaculated during orgasm can be absorbed by the partner in the mouth and possibly swallowed. Simultaneous mutual oral stimulation is known colloquially as 69 , whereby the name indicates the opposite body orientation of the participants. The rimming represents a special form of oral sex, wherein the anus of the partner is stimulated orally. In tea bagging , the man's testicles are the target.
Manual stimulation
Here, the partner's genitals are stimulated with the hand or hands (masturbation). The preferences for the respective type of touch vary greatly from person to person.
Inserting the whole hand into the vagina or rectum is also known as fisting . It is practiced both homosexual, heterosexual and autosexual.
Sexual practices with a focus on specific parts of the body
- Breast intercourse : intercourse with a focus on the female breast
- Thigh intercourse: intercourse with the help of the thighs
- Tribadie : the rubbing of the labia and the clitoris among women (vulva-vulva)
Many people's nipples , earlobes, and ear canals are very erogenous. Their mechanical, tactile, or oral stimulation can lead to orgasm . The nipples in particular change noticeably in that they change color, contract and / or erect.
Sexual practices without physical contact
Other sexual practices
Paraphilias and fetishisms (selection)
The following sexual practices are carried out with certain paraphilias and fetishisms, but also with the corresponding sexual preferences that are not pathological. If other people are involved in the practices, these usually take place in mutual agreement with the respective partners, they are based on voluntary action:
- Auto epiophilia (sex with diapers and baby clothes)
- Coprophilia (sexual pleasure gained through human excrement or excretion)
- Urophilia (sexual preference for urine)
The Frotteurismus represents a special form of auto sexuality.
Not aimed at (living) people
- Object sexuality (emotional and sexual attraction to objects, which often includes sexual acts with the non-living love object)
- Necrophilia (sexual activity of any kind with corpses)
- Zoophilia (sexually oriented desire for animals)
Stimulants
Aphrodisiacs have been used in various cultures to intensify sexual pleasure since ancient times . Many foods and spices (such as celery, onions, chilli, cocoa, cinnamon or vanilla), fragrances and incense, as well as intoxicating substances and drugs (such as alcohol , cannabis or opium ) are considered to be aphrodisiac . Modern drugs that are thought to have aphrodisiac properties include poppers , cocaine and ecstasy . In addition to health-endangering effects, drugs can also lead to a restriction or loss of sexual arousal and thus act as an anaphrodisiac . The representation of sexual practices, which have also been shown in illustrations, sculptures and erotic narratives of many cultures since time immemorial, belong to the sexual stimulants like modern pornography .
Morality and social norm
The evaluation of sexual practices is culture-dependent. For a long time, vaginal intercourse, sometimes only in certain positions, was accepted as "normal" in the western world . Most of the other sexual practices were considered perversions , i.e. degenerations. They were taboo and even banned by law.
In the meantime, only a few legal bans apply in Europe to sexual practices that are not based on voluntariness because they violate the principle of sexual self-determination . Any further state regulation contradicts the constitutional understanding of the general freedom of action and in most European legal systems it is completely inadmissible to enact laws on this.
The following sexual practices are currently prohibited in Germany:
- sexual acts with / on children ( sexual abuse of children )
- Sexual acts with / on incapable of resistance, those subject to power and those in need, with corpses (see also necrophilia )
- Sexual harassment , sexual assault and rape , regardless of gender are involved and whether they married , engaged or partnered are
- Incest : sexual intercourse among very close relatives
- Exhibitionism is only forbidden to men and provided they are harassing someone
- Sexual acts in public (also called " arousing public nuisance "), but they are usually only prosecuted on request
Sexual acts with / on animals ( zoophilia ) are contrary to popular opinion in Germany not a criminal offense ( offense ), but are prosecuted as an administrative offense. However, if the sexual act involves pain or suffering for a vertebrate animal , this cruelty to animals violates the Animal Welfare Act and is a criminal offense.
The scientific concept of perversion has increasingly been replaced by the more neutral concept of paraphilia or sexual deviance in recent years . Also, not every “abnormal” sexual practice is classified as deviance any more. A deviance only exists if a certain sexual practice has become necessary for sexual satisfaction (compare fetish ) or if it hinders the normal social functioning of a person.
Sexual Practices in Animals
If one considers the entire class of mammals , reproduction-oriented techniques are the most widespread, i.e. courtship rituals in the broader sense and vaginal intercourse in the a-tergo position in the narrower sense . Evolution researchers rate the seldom observed missionary position (face to face; position that is related to the upright gait of a person) as a progressive specificity, since the emotions of the partner can be recognized more easily when the faces are turned and corresponding reactions are possible. The missionary position is found sporadically in the animal kingdom in the great apes , particularly among bonobos .
Oral contact with genitals and anus is common in mammals. Biologists have also noted a certain amount of homosexual practice in all of the opposite-sex species observed, sometimes as a substitute for the lack of mating opposite-sex individuals. Bulls that are ready to mate sometimes try to mount one another when there are not enough cows. In some species of monkeys, stimulation of their genitals as well as each other is common - regardless of whether the other animal is of the same sex or not, for example with bonobos. There are now numerous observations and evidence that the sexual life of many animal species has extremely creative components, sometimes strange ones: for example, nasal penetration in dolphins or, in the bird species buffalo weaver, the stimulation of the genitals of the female by the male with the help of a special pseudophallus ( fake phallus ) made of connective tissue that is not used for sperm transmission.
