Smraďoch

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Smraďoch to German stinker , is a 7.9-hectare, under nature conservation standing peat bog 4km north of Marianske Lazne (Marienbad) on Vlčí kámen in Kaiserwald in the Czech Republic .

The moorland, which was placed under protection in 1968, is characterized by a concentrated outflow of mineral water and gas, which emerges as carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide from Mofetten (mud volcanoes). Because of these post-volcanic activities and the resulting conditions, a typical and peculiar plant society developed. These include round-leaved sundew and cranberries . Only a small part of the forest moor is accessible via beam paths.

The moor is drained via the Mnichovský potok and the Pramenský potok to the Teplá . Coordinates: 50 ° 0 ′ 50 ″  N , 12 ° 43 ′ 8 ″  E
