Snoqualmie Falls is a waterfall on the Snoqualmie River between Snoqualmie and Fall City , King County , Washington , United States.
It is about 82 meters high and about 30 meters wide. He was best known as a set in the television series Twin Peaks . Over 1.5 million people visit the waterfall annually.
Namesake is the people of the Snoqualmie People . They used it as a burial place, especially according to their belief the waterfall was the place where man was created by the moon. Furthermore, it was a place of worship where the prayers were carried up by means of the spray.
The waterfall has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2009 .
It is owned by Puget Sound Energy , which also operates the power plants.

The run-of-river power station Snoqualmie Falls Hydroelectric Plant consists of two plants. Plant 1 is a cavern power plant and was put into operation in 1899, it is 82 meters underground and was the first of its kind worldwide. The max. Output is 4 × 1.8 megawatts ( Pelton ) and 1 × 6.5 megawatts ( Francis ). This facility has been a Historic Civil Engineering Landmark since 1976 (name: Snoqualmie Falls Cavity Generating Station ).
Plant 2 was put into operation in 1910 and expanded in 1957. This system generates the following output: 1 × 13.7 megawatts and 1 × 26.5 megawatts (each Francis).
