Snoqualmie is a city near Seattle in the US state of Washington . It has about 10,670 inhabitants and is named after the Indian tribe of Snoqualmie named. The city is known for its waterfalls, the Snoqualmie Falls , as well as the location of the series Twin Peaks and the feature film Twin Peaks - The film by director David Lynch .
Twin peaks
Most of the exterior shots of the TV series were shot in the following locations:
- The Great Northern Hotel is actually called "Salish Lodge" and is located at Snoqualmie Falls. This waterfall is considered a natural wonder and the city's greatest attraction.
- The school scenes were made at Mount Si High School.
- The large railway bridge, on which Laura's friend Ronnette Polaski appears during the pilot film, can be found on the eastern edge of the city.
- Harry S. Truman's Sheriff's Department was actually the administrative building of the local sawmill. There is currently a rally driving school there.
- The forests in which the entrance to the Black Lodge is supposed to be in the series were also taken here.
