SeaTac is a city in King County in the US state of Washington with 26,909 inhabitants (as of 2010). The city is located between the cities of Seattle and Tacoma in the Seattle metropolitan area . The name of the city is derived from the initial syllables of the two cities Sea ttle and Tac oma.
history
SeaTac was officially granted town charter on February 28, 1990 . It was the first city in the USA to have an inner major , i.e. a capital letter in the middle of the name. It formed around the Seattle / Tacoma airport , which is also called Sea-Tac (but with a hyphen) and is named after the airport.

SeaTacs geographical coordinates are 47 ° 26 ' N , 122 ° 18' W .
Interstate 5 runs along the eastern city limits . To the west, the city is delimited by the Seattle / Tacoma airport, which is still in the urban area.
The neighboring towns are (clockwise) Tukwila , Kent , Des Moines , Burien and Riverton-Boulevard Park .
Demographics
In 2000 there were 25,496 people in 9,708 households and 5,960 families living here. Of these, 62.86% were white , 9.15% black , 1.50% Native American , 11.07% Asian and 2.66% Pacific Islander .
