history

Logo of the band

The core of Social Impact, musician and songwriter Mike Weber and bassist Chris Rammelmeier, has existed since 1995. At that time, the two formed the band "Shit Happens", which was renamed "Holy Joe" a year later. At the end of 1996 Holy Joe presented their first album, Put the Rock into your brain, and achieved their first regional successes. Due to internal problems, however, the band broke up in the summer of 1997, shortly before a contract with a music label.

Weber then withdrew from the music sector for some time. In addition to several musical solo projects, he founded the company "High Voltage records" in 2000 and began working on a solo album. In autumn 2007 he decided to turn the pure studio project into a real band project. Together with his old friend and music colleague Chris Rammelmeier, he looked for other musicians who would form what is now the band Social Impact.

In the spring of 2009 the band aroused the interest of some production companies, with which, thanks to the support of High Voltagerecords, the first Social Impact Live DVD was released. While the DVD was available in stores, some record companies became aware of the five-piece rock band. Social Impact turned down a contract offer in order to still be able to work freely and independently. In addition to some appearances as headliners , Social Impact also appeared as the opening act for The Poodles and Bonfire .

In mid-2010, drummer Michael Eichinger announced to the band that he wanted to leave Social Impact for reasons of time. The original line -up still played appearances from the ongoing The King inside tour. When the band performed as the opening act for Ravenryde on November 5, 2010, Eichinger was finally bid farewell. A search for a replacement followed. In June 2011, Social Impact met Jürgen Kral, a drummer who had previously played with the country rock band “HatsOn!”. At the beginning of August 2011, the drummer joined the Ingolstadt hard rock band.
