Soddo (also Sodo or Soddu ; Amharic ሶዶ Sodo ) is a city and woreda in southern Ethiopia in the Wolayit zone in the region of the southern nations, nationalities and peoples of Ethiopia.

The city is one of the larger in Ethiopia in 2016 with approx. 153,322 inhabitants (speaking 14 languages) and after Awassa the second largest in the region of the southern nations, nationalities and peoples . The city is the seat of the Roman Catholic Apostolic Vicariate of Soddo . A university is located in Soddo.

The city lies at an altitude of 1600 m above sea level near the eastern edge of the Abyssinian highlands . Due to the location in the tropics, the temperatures change little over the year and are around 14 ° C.

Soddo has a small airport . The city is well connected to the Ethiopian trunk road network and is located on the Trans-Africa-Highway Cairo-Cape Town, which has already been developed in Ethiopia. The nearest large cities are each approx. 120 km away Awassa in the east and Hosaena in the north.
