Sodeto is a Spanish village in the municipality of Alberuela de Tubo in the Comarca (administrative unit) of Monegros in the province of Huesca in the Aragon region .
geography
Sodeto had 228 inhabitants in 2011. The village is located at 330 m above sea level at the foot of the eponymous mountain Sodeto . Water is brought in through an irrigation channel, which enables intensive farming. In addition, cattle are farmed on the very dry soil.
history
In 1950, Sodeto was re-established as the Instituto Nacional de Colonización y de Desarollo Rural , the National Institute for Colonization and Rural Development founded in 1939 after the Spanish Civil War . The newly developed land had been expropriated and until then had belonged to the lands of the Duke of Villahermosa .
Christmas lottery 2011
The Spanish Christmas lottery 2011 brought a total profit of € 120 million for Sodeto and other villages in the area. In Sodeto, all but one of the residents had purchased at least one ticket, each with a profit of € 50,000.
