Sofi Marinowa (2012)

Sofi Marinowa Kamenowa ( Bulgarian София Маринова Каменова ; born December 5, 1975 in Sofia ) is a Bulgarian popfolk singer with Roma roots.

Sofi Marinowa became famous as the singer of the Bulgarian Roma band Super Express (Супер експрес) in the 1990s with whom she sang five albums. She has released ten albums under her own name since 1997.

In 2005 and 2007 she took part in the pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, but was not selected. As the winner of the Bulgarian preselection 2012, she was allowed to compete for her home country with the pop song Love Unlimited at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku . In the second semifinals, she could not qualify for the final two days later. She failed particularly narrowly: with 45 points she finished eleventh, tied behind Norway. Since Norway received at least one point from eleven countries, while Bulgaria received only ten, Norway reached the final and Bulgaria was eliminated.
