Stojan Jankulow ( Bulgarian Стоян Янкулов , Stoyan Yankoulov; born September 10, 1966 ) is a Bulgarian drummer and percussionist .

Jankulow studied percussion instruments at the Lyubomir Pipkow Music School and the Pantscho Wladigerow Music Academy . He then became a member of the big band of the Bulgarian radio and also played in rock, jazz and folk bands. He has performed at folk and jazz festivals in Bulgaria, Finland, Belgium, Germany, Holland, France, Turkey, the USA and Macedonia and has worked with Bobby McFerrin , Okay Temiz , Carlo Rizzo , Enwer Ismailow , Iwo Papasow , Milcho Leviev , among others and Simeon Schterew together.

In 2004 he was awarded the Bulgarian Crystal Lira Award in the jazz category. He is a member of various formations, including the group Vapirov-Donchev-Yankoulov (with Anatoli Wapirow and Antoni Dontschew ), the Stoyan Yankoulov Quintet (with Eliza Todorowa , Mihail Josifow , Iwan Schopow and Wesselin Wesselinow ), the Percussion Trio (with Carlo Rizzo and Kornél Horváth ) and the Zig Zaf Trio (with Peter Raltschew and Ateshghan Yuseinov ). In 2007 he took part in the Eurovision Song Contest with Eliza Todorowa and came in fifth. After an internal election, the duo was also chosen as the Bulgarian representative for the 2013 contest , but was eliminated in the semifinals.
