The SoftM Software und Beratung AG , headquartered in Munich was a German IT provider of integrated commercial standard software and support services. According to the company, around 420 people were employed at 20 locations in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Poland and France in 2008. Since November 2008 SoftM has belonged to the Polish IT group Comarch . Since June 2010 SoftM Software und Beratung AG has been trading under the name Comarch Software und Beratung AG .

In the 2008 financial year, the company, which is listed in the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, achieved sales of around 56 million euros.

history

In 1973 the civil law company Sedlmayr & Partner was founded in Munich, which dealt with the development of software. In 1978 the company was converted into a GmbH . Software development continued. In 1986 the company was renamed again and the company SoftM Software und Beratung München GmbH was founded. In the same year, SoftM expanded its market penetration with branches in Münster and Hamburg, Stuttgart followed in 1987 and the first foreign branch in Switzerland in 1991. In 1995 SoftM Software and Consulting Munich GmbH was finally reorganized into SoftM Software and Consulting AG with a share capital of 1 million German marks. The company continued its expansion in the market and was listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on July 21, 1998. From 1998 to 2004 sales rose from 31.4 to 87.5 million euros. By 2008, sales had dropped to 56.6 million euros.

Comarch (Krakow, Poland) acquired an additional 35 percent of the shares through its subsidiary Comarch Software AG (Dresden) in 2008 as part of a capital increase of 1.5 million euros and became the majority shareholder. In February 2009, Comarch was able to increase the proportion of shares by taking over blocks of shares to over 80 percent. In June 2010 the name was changed to Comarch Software und Beratung AG .
