Sofulu is a destroyed village in Azerbaijan . The area of the place is completely enclosed by Armenian territory, and together with the place Barxudarlı forms an Azerbaijani exclave . It is less than 1 km from metropolitan Azerbaijan. De jure , Sofulu is part of the Qazax Rayon . However, Sofulu has been de facto occupied by Armenia since the Nagorno-Karabakh War in 1992 and is administered by the Tavush Province . During the Armenian occupation, the Azerbaijani population was driven out by the Armenian army ; the place actually no longer exists.
