It lies in a karst rock formation that is forested and in which the Sohoton River has carved deep gorges with almost vertically sloping walls.

The caves in the national park are all passable by boat or with stretched bridges. They offer a wide variety of shapes, so the Sohoton Cave has a cathedral-like shape and is approx. 50 meters high. The Panhulugan II cave has a tunnel-like character, it is approx. 50 meters long and 5 meters high. All three caves are covered with milky white stalactites on the cave ceilings.
