Sokol Kacani (born February 16, 1984 in Fier ) is a former Albanian football player .

Career

In his youth Kacani played for Apolonia Fier , KS Dinamo Tirana and FC Augsburg . In the summer of 2003 the striker moved to Linz ASK in Austria. About Blau-Weiß Linz and Rot-Weiß Erfurt he came to the Stuttgarter Kickers during the 2005/06 season , where he was initially used in the 2nd team. After twelve goals in 23 league games in the 2006/07 season, the striker moved up to the first team. With her he qualified for the 3rd division in 2008 . Sokol Kacani made his professional debut in August 2008, when the Kickers lost 2-0 at home to Fortuna Düsseldorf , when he was substituted on in the 70th minute. In July 2009, Kacani joined the Regionalliga promoted SpVgg Weiden . Due to the bankruptcy of the Upper Palatinate football club, the game was stopped on December 1, 2010 and the contract with Sokol Kacani was terminated. He then moved to league competitor SG Sonnenhof Großaspach in January 2011 . In the 2011/12 season he was the SG's second-best goalscorer with 13 goals in 30 missions behind strike partner Matthias Mory , but the season ended for him with a cruciate ligament rupture . In January 2013, Kacani took over the post of assistant coach at SG for the rest of the season.

Sokol Kacani played five games for Albania's U17 national team . He scored eight goals. He was also the captain of the Albanian U-21 national team , for which he appeared a total of 23 times.
