Seeta Aur Geeta ( Hindi : सीता और गीता, Sītā aur Gītā ; translated: Sita and Gita ) is a Hindi film by Ramesh Sippy from 1972 with Hema Malini in a double role.

The rich couple found makeshift shelter in a simple house because a woman gave birth there before the doctor arrives. The young family then travels, unsuspecting that the woman of the house has kept one of the children. Since twins were born, the childless hosts put one of the girls with them.
Years later: The twins Geeta, the gypsy dancer of the acrobat Raka, and Seeta, who after the death of her parents lives with her wicked aunt Kaushalya and is treated like a slave by her, still know nothing about each other.
Because of the harassment in Seeta's unhappy life, she wants to commit suicide, but before anything else can happen, she is prevented and taken to Raka, because she is believed to be Geeta. Before that, Geeta fled the house and ends up in the arms of the millionaire Ravi, who was promised to Seeta. Since Ravi thinks she is Seeta, he takes Geeta to the relatives, where Geeta teaches her aunt Kaushalya a lesson.
Ravi falls in love with Geeta, while Raka falls in love with Seeta, although they both notice that their lovers suddenly behave very differently.
The truth emerges when Seeta's uncle sees the real Seeta in the marketplace and runs after her. In the end there is a happy ending: the lovers marry and the family is at peace.
