action

Yorito Morimiya is a normal high school student with an unusual hobby: observing the sky and taking photos. Yorito's sister Aono has been in the hospital for several months, so he lives alone. However, his schoolmate Mana takes care of him most of the time, so that he gets along well. One morning while taking photos, Yorito runs into a strange girl who is struggling with a vending machine. But when he tries to help her, she suddenly disappeared. They meet again that evening, and the stranger introduces herself to him as Matsuri Shihou. The two get on wonderfully from the start. But as it soon turns out, Matsuri is not a human, but a Yaka, immortal beings with extraordinary powers, who only show themselves at night because the sunlight would kill them. Yorito's sister Aono soon realizes what's going on with her brother and is terribly jealous of Matsuri. An old fight comes back to life between the two. But not only Aono is after her, a strange man is also keen to kill Matsuri. It soon emerges that Aono is also a Yaka, and even more that it was Matsuri who made her this one. Aono is very powerful and fights using origami paper, which can even shred steel. Several hundred years ago, the siblings Yorito and Aono met a girl who was hiding in a cave and became friends with her. When Yorito was killed in a landslide, Aono committed suicide. Matsuri turned her into a yaka and brought her back to life. From then on, Aono tried with her yaka powers to create a kind of copy of Yorito out of paper, which she finally succeeded. As soon as Yorito learns everything, he no longer wants to live because, according to him, this kind of existence cannot be called life and is not right. In the end, Matsuri gives her life to Aono to make her human again. You and Yorito break up. Aono is now released from the Yaka curse and can start a new life. Now she can walk under the sun again, which she had been unable to do for a hundred years. Mana, her little sister, who made friends with Aono in the hospital, and Aono himself are now continuing Yorito's hobby and photographing the sky together.

Manga

The completed manga sola is based on a plot devised by Naoki Hisaya and illustrated by the illustrator Chako Abeno . The character design is originally from the artist Naru Nanao . After graduating from sola , Chako Abeno planned to make a manga adaptation of the computer game White Album .

A prologue of sola was the first time since December 21, 2006 within the Shonen -Manga magazine Dengeki Daiho published, which by MediaWorks was issued. The following month, on January 20, 2007, the first chapter appeared. The manga was printed within the magazine until February 21, 2008. Outside of Japan, the manga was licensed for the US market by Broccoli Books . The first edition was published on June 18, 2008. A second edition was no longer published because the American branch of broccoli was abandoned.
