The Eggebek solar park is an open-air photovoltaic system in Schleswig-Holstein , which was built in 2011 on the site of the Eggebek air base near Eggebek . When it was commissioned in August 2011, it was one of the largest solar parks in Germany .
The facility was built on a conversion area of 160 hectares previously used by the military , of which approx. 130 hectares were built on with modules. It is divided into three areas with a total output of 83.6 MWp . Around 360,000 modules from Trina Solar were used .
The solar park is owned by different owners. In 2013 Mainova acquired a sub-area with an output of 23.4 MWp, the annual standard energy capacity of which is around 22 million kWh .
