Trina Solar is a Chinese company with headquarters in Jiangsu Province and numerous offices in the USA, Europe and Asia, which is included in the PPVX solar share index and has been listed on the NYSE since 2006 . It was founded by Jifan Gao in December 1997 and is used to develop and manufacture ingots , wafers , solar cells and solar modules . In recent years it has repeatedly been on the Fortune list of the 100 fastest growing companies in the world (2011 number 18). Trina Solar pursues a vertically integrated business model that combines the production of ingots, wafers and cells through to finished solar modules in one location. By the end of 2014, the company said it had delivered solar modules with a total output of 11 GW worldwide. 3.66 GW were sold in the 2014 financial year; Trina Solar thus became the world's largest module manufacturer in 2014.
