Sollicitudo omnium ecclesiarum (Pius XI.)
With the papal bull Sollicitudo omnium ecclesiarum ("Care for all churches") of January 25, 1929, Pope Pius XI. two new dioceses established in Brazil .
The large diocese of São Carlos in Rio de Janeiro showed considerable administrative problems, so that the apostolic nuncio proposed a reorganization to the pope. After evaluating all the investigation protocols, the result was that the diocese of São Carlos should be divided. With the papal bull the reorganization into the dioceses of Jaboticabal (Jaboticabalensis) and Rio Preto (Riopretensis) took place, both dioceses are subordinate to the Archdiocese of Ribeirão Preto .
