Solna strand (until August 17, 2014 Vreten ) is an underground station on the Stockholm subway . It is located in the Huvudsta district of the Solna municipality . The station is served by the Blå linjen of the Stockholm metro system . It is one of the less frequented stations on the underground network. On a normal working day, 2,900 commuters get on here, mainly from the nearby companies. For this reason, very few people use this station outside of normal working hours. As the only station on the Tunnelbana, Vreten was therefore not served all day until August 2011. The trains went through without stopping at certain times.
The station was put into operation on August 19, 1985, when the section of the Blå linjen between Västra skogen and Rinkeby was opened. The platforms are about 28 meters underground. The station is located between the Huvudsta and Sundbybergs centrum stations . It is about six kilometers to Stockholm Central Station .
On August 18, 2014 the name of the station was changed from Vreten to Solna strand . The surrounding industrial park had already changed its name at the beginning of the previous decade, as Vreten was seen as unappealing. The name Vreten has been in use since the 19th century when a farm was named here.
