Takashi Naraha ( Japanese 楢 葉 雍 , Naraha Takashi ; * 1930 in Mito , Japan ) is a Japanese sculptor .

life and work

Takashi Naraha lived in Mito in Ibaraki Prefecture on the island of Honshu in Japan . From 1950 to 1955 he studied sculpture at the Musashino Art School in Tokyo . He held his first solo exhibition in 1967 at the Kunugi Gallery in Tokyo. In 1973/1974 he took part in a sculpture symposium in Östra Göinge, Sweden, in the Skåne region. When he saw the stone black and Swedish , its creation by a gangue , discovered for himself in the quarry Hägghult in Lönsboda decided is won, he in 1975 in Sweden to stay to with this black granite most of his geometric - abstract to elaborate works . The shapes chosen by him are mandala and circle , in space cubes , pyramids and cylinders .
