Somalia Drive (Monrovia)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Somalia Drive is a main street of the Liberian capital Monrovia .

The road is about 13 kilometers long and runs north of the central mangrove swamps in the center of the metropolis of Monrovia. It begins in the west on Bushrod Island and branches off there, near the port, from United Nations Drive to the east.

The route, designed as a relief road, makes a slight curve and first meets the northern district of Greenville , then turns slightly south to meet the arterial road coming from the north at the intersection of the districts of Paynesville , Nizohn and Wood Camp .

The Somalia Drive offers, since the destruction of the Mesurado Bridge the fastest connection from the port to the airport , but is at the eastern end of the central bus terminal located there and many trucking companies in this zone in the rush hour chronically constipated.

The four-lane road runs for long stretches through marshland and has three larger bridges.
