Sommerheu was a wasteland and a district of the municipality Englmar in the Lower Bavarian district office Arch .

The place was surrounded by forest on the western slope of the Hirschenstein at an altitude of 880  m , about one kilometer from the summit.

history

Proof of the field name exists for the year 1797 by means of a dispute between the miller von Rettenbach , Wolfgang Sandel, and the forester's office. In the first photo from 1808 and 1864, a building is shown in summer hay, as is the map from around 1829.

In the census data for the year 1871, summer hay is listed as a wasteland with five residents, two buildings, a horse and 14 cattle, belonging to the catholic church seven kilometers away. Parish and school Englmar and the post office in Bogen, 24 kilometers away. Also in 1875 there are five residents. Further census data show the existence of summer hay as a place to live until at least 1885, when eight residents and one residential building were listed. The district has not been mentioned since the subsequent census of 1900.
