Sommersell is a district of the Lippe town of Barntrup in North Rhine-Westphalia .
history
Sommersell was first mentioned in 1364 as a Sommersele . The name is taken from the family name Sudmar ; the place is formerly called Sudmar's settlement . On October 1, 1921, the new Selbeck community was re-formed by hiving off the Sommersell community. In 1928 Sommersell was connected to the electrical power supply.
On January 1, 1969, the place was incorporated into the city of Barntrup.
