Sonam Kapoor ( Hindi सोनम कपूर Sonam Kapūr [ soːnəm kəpuːr ]; born June 9, 1985 in Mumbai , India ) is an Indian actress and model.

Life

Sonam Kapoor comes from a well-known Indian family of actors. Her father is the internationally known Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor , his older brother the film producer Boney Kapoor , who was married to the actress Sridevi since 1996 . Her younger sister Rhea Kapoor and her little brother Harshvardhan are now also active in show business as producers and actors.

She attended the United World College of South East Asia in Singapore for two years as a boarding school student , where she graduated with the International Baccalaureate Diploma. She took advanced courses in theater studies, English and history (focus on China).

She speaks five languages: English, Hindi , Urdu , Punjabi and Marathi and she is a trained classical dancer.
