Sonja Lüthi

Sonja Lüthi (born March 18, 1981 in Thundorf TG ) is a Swiss politician ( GLP) , heads the Social Affairs and Security Directorate as a St. Gallen City Councilor and is a Cantonal Councilor in St. Gallen .

Life and education

Lüthi is a qualified geographer, secondary school teacher and doctorate in economics. She did her doctorate with a dissertation on an effective funding policy for renewable energies at the University of St. Gallen . She is married and has a daughter and a son.

politics

From 2011 to 2014, Lüthi was Vice President of the Green Liberals of the City of St. Gallen. From 2012 to 2015 she was a member of the St. Gallen City Parliament, where she was Vice-President of the Works Committee and a member of the Board of Directors of Olma Messen St. Gallen . In the Cantonal they politicized in since 2015 CVP / GLP fraction. Lüthi has been President of the GLP of the canton of St. Gallen since 2016 and also city councilor of St. Gallen since 2018.
